(mypanhandle.com) – “We were looking for place to eat, and couldn’t make our minds up,” said Walton County Fire Rescue’s Corey Galloway.
As he and his partner, Chad Massey, drove north on U.S. 331, McLain’s Family Steak Diner was in sight. They quickly decided to just pull in.
“I think we were there for a bigger and better reason,” said Galloway.
Nearly 15 minutes later, the pair hears a patron choking while they’re eating lunch.
“Immediately jumped up, both of us, no hesitation,” said Galloway.
Galloway performs the Heimlich maneuver and is able to clear the man’s airway. His partner, Massey, comforted the frantic family.
“Sat there with him to make sure his color and everything was normal and everything had cleared,” said Galloway.
It was a scary moment that followed an already emotional day.
