(NYDailyNews.com) – Cops and firefighters rescued two window washers who got stuck in their scaffolding carriage 40 floors up on the side of a Tribeca skyscraper Friday morning.

The workers got stuck when their carriage apparently smashed through a window on the side of the 64-story tower at 111 Murray St. near Greenwich St. about 8:20 a.m. Glass rained down after the impact.

The NYPD’s Special Operations Division reported just after 9 a.m. that the workers had been rescued.

“Great Job by NYPD ESU & FDNY with the rescue of 2 people from a malfunctioning scaffold,” the unit posted on Twitter. “Working together they successfully removed 2 workers from a scaffold stuck on the 40th floor.”
