MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) — A man was pulled from his burning SUV on 385 Sunday.
It happened on the eastbound side of 385 near Ridgeway Road and Kirby Parkway at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
A Jeep left the road, hit a pole and burst into flames.
The driver was trapped in the car as flames began to spread toward him.
Cars stopped and people immediately tried to pull the man out.
It was looking grim until MPD K9 Officer Richard Morrow joined the group.
Together Officer Morrow and Eugene McNeil were able to get the seat belt off the man and pull him from the car.
Together, they were able to pull the man to safety just before the car was engulfed in flames.
The driver was taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.
The car was destroyed, but a Bible was found on the passenger seat unharmed.
