(InsideEdition) – A Maine police officer went above the call of duty when he lent a local business his snow shoveling services during a snowstorm.
Officer Ben Murtiff of the Augusta Police Department was photographed shoveling the sidewalk in front of a boutique Tuesday morning after a winter storm hit the area on Christmas Day.
“I came into work on Tuesday,” she told InsideEdition.com. “I literally take two shovels and all of a sudden a police officer shows up […] and he’s like, ‘Hey, give me the shovel. I’m going to shovel for you.'”
Curtis, who has owned Betsy’s for the last three years, said she wanted to share the photos on Facebook to demonstrate the kindness of her local police department.
“They’re constantly coming in and making sure our businesses are doing okay, and our streets are safe for us and really trying to lend a hand in any way they can help us,” Curtis said.
