(Clarksville NOW) – A Clarksville Police officer was in the right place at the right time this week for a citizen who had a tire blowout on a curb.

Betty Abernathy said she’d never had a flat tire before and didn’t know what the noise was as she pulled into the parking lot of Moss’s Restaurant on Memorial Drive.

Just as she rolled to a stop, Patrolman Shawn Delle was pulling up and within a minute was fishing in Abernathy’s trunk for a spare tire and jack.

“This is easy,” he said, jacking up the car with a big smile.

Abernathy called Delle ‘my night in shining armor.’
