(Ithica Voice)- For the second time in as many days, a family of three was rescued from their vehicle by Ithaca First Responders.

The call came in at 3:00 p.m. for a report of a car off the road leaning into the gorge off of Oak Ave in Ithaca. Ithaca Police, Bangs Ambulance and the Ithaca Fire Department responded. Cornell Environmental Health & Safety workers were in the area and found a gray KIA, off of the road, leaning into the gorge with a family of three still inside.

Ithaca Firefighters quickly secured the car to their fire trucks with chains to keep it from sliding further down and rescued all three from the vehicle.

No one was injured and the vehicle was recovered by a tow truck. The Ithaca Police Department is investigating the accident. On Friday a woman and two children were injured when the car they were riding in struck a tree.

The Ithaca Fire Department reminds everyone to take their time when driving, be aware of road conditions, wear seatbelts and ensure children are properly restrained.
