Georgia Underwriting Association is currently seeking a full time property adjuster. Candidate will be responsible for reviewing insurance policies to determine coverage, preparing detailed written reports and making recommendations while complying with state/federal laws.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts a prompt, thorough and fair investigation by obtaining relevant facts to determine coverage, origin, and extent of loss.
- Document damage/losses and prepare written cost estimates using Xactimate software.
- Keeps the Claims Director and the insured informed about the claims status with clear, timely and accurate written/oral communications. Effectively communicates in writing on moderately complex coverage issues with minimal review and coaching.
- Meets time requirements of the policy and fair claims handling practices.
- Keeps the electronic claim file properly documented with accurate, clear and timely information and reports that reflect the adjustment activities and substantiates any payments made.
Job Requirements:
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Xactimate property estimating experience
- 3-5 years field experience with commercial and personal lines claims, full adjustments and appraisal work.
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, with excellent organization and time management skills
- Licensed P&C adjuster
- Background in construction, restoration, and/or mitigation helpful – not required
