COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Columbus firefighters got a big thank you Thursday as a part of an appreciation ceremony.

Fire Marshal Ricky Shores and the Arson Control Board of Georgia held the appreciation at station six Thursday morning.

Firefighters across the state are trying to raise awareness for the service they provide to the community.

“The danger in arson that there is, it’s not victimless. If you see it please report it,” Josh Mosley said, with Georgia Arson Control.

Firefighters at the station said it’s nice to be recognized for doing the job they love to do.
