<\/iframe><\/p>\n(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.13wmaz.com\/article\/news\/local\/milledgeville-firefighter-rescues-dog-from-storm-drain\/93-07910ce4-9cc8-4e69-aba2-0d732e192a49\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WMAZ<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0\u201cA woman\u2019s best friend\u201d \u2014 that\u2019s how Maranda Pfohl describes her dog Daisy.<\/p>\n\u201cShe doesn\u2019t go more than 10 feet away from me, for the whole 8 years I\u2019ve had her,\u201d Pfohl says. \u201cEveryone says, \u2018Oh, she\u2019s just a dog.\u2019 No, she is my child.\u201d<\/p>\nDuring a bathroom break on New Year\u2019s night, Pfohl lost sight of Daisy in the yard.<\/p>\n\u201cWell, she sees a squirrel and decides to chase it, so my husband comes inside to grab some shoes, and when he goes back out, he can\u2019t find her,\u201d says Pfohl.<\/p>\nPfohl and neighbors searched for half an hour until she spotted something in the storm drain.<\/p>\n\u201cPure joy and panic set in at the same time,\u201d says Pfohl.<\/p>\nDaisy fell roughly five feet deep into the drain. Pfohl called the Milledgeville Fire Department for help. Fireman Nick Clark climbed down the storm drain to bring Daisy to safety.<\/p>\n\u201cShe\u2019s been with me through everything \u2014 every college, every relationship, every friendship. She\u2019s just been there for everything. She walked me down the aisle on my wedding day,\u201d says Pfohl.<\/p>\nPfohl says she is grateful that the Milledgeville Fire Department brought her pup to safety.<\/p>\nClark says that was his first time rescuing a pet from a storm drain.
