(wjcl<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0A Georgia house is mostly gone, but the man inside is alive, thanks to the heroic efforts of firefighters.<\/p>\n

Crews were called to the home on Sheila Court in Lilburn on Monday morning as fire was tearing through the house.<\/p>\n

Once inside, firefighters couldn\u2019t find the man on the main level or upstairs area. They found a stairwell to the basement, where they discovered the man unconscious and in cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was in respiratory and cardiac arrest when they got to him, so he was having a heart attack. Literally, he was in the process of having a heart attack,\u201d said Gwinnett County Fire Spokesperson Donald Strother.<\/p>\n

The firefighters pulled him from the burning house and performed CPR.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all worked as a team. We all communicated well, and we were able to get him out,\u201d said firefighter Trent Garrison.<\/p>\n

The man was taken to a hospital, where he is recovering.<\/p>\n
