(WJCL<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0A Savannah firefighter is being celebrated as a hero after coming to the aid of a fellow airline passenger.<\/p>\n

Savannah Fire & Rescue says AFF Trevor Jaha was on a flight to Los Angeles in September when another passenger suffered sudden cardiac arrest and had no pulse.<\/p>\n

Jaha performed CPR for more than 30 minutes. While four shocks with an AED didn\u2019t get her pulse back, a fifth attempt did the trick. The plane made an emergency landing.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a hospital stay she regained the ability to walk and talk \u2013 with no signs of brain damage,\u201d the department wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n

The department says Jaha\u2019s efforts helped ensure the woman didn\u2019t suffer brain damage.<\/p>\n
