{"id":16790,"date":"2019-05-07T09:32:33","date_gmt":"2019-05-07T14:32:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=16790"},"modified":"2019-05-07T09:32:33","modified_gmt":"2019-05-07T14:32:33","slug":"firefighters-rescue-injured-worker-dangling-from-gwinnett-cell-tower","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=16790","title":{"rendered":"FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE INJURED WORKER DANGLING FROM GWINNETT CELL TOWER"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsbradio.com\/news\/crime--law\/firefighters-rescue-injured-worker-dangling-from-gwinnett-cell-tower\/27fhWoNuXF7TJQE30Nb9RI\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WSB<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0Firefighters were able to rescue an injured worker who was dangling more than 100 feet about the ground from a cell tower Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">The man, who was part of a contracted crew, was injured while climbing the tower in the 4900 block of West Price Road just before 4 p.m., Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said in a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">Firefighters found the man suspended in the air near the top of the tower, the release said. The man was conscious, but he wasn\u2019t able to free himself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">Two other members of the contracted crew were with the injured man, but they needed firefighter\u2019s help to get him safely to the ground, the release said. A firefighter with the department\u2019s Technical Rescue Team was able to scale the tower and reach the group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">They were able to rig a rescue harness and belay line to the injured man, allowing them to safely lower him to the ground, the release said.
