{"id":16698,"date":"2019-02-26T11:51:23","date_gmt":"2019-02-26T16:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=16698"},"modified":"2019-02-26T11:51:23","modified_gmt":"2019-02-26T16:51:23","slug":"watch-ga-firefighters-rescue-hikers-from-creek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=16698","title":{"rendered":"Watch GA Firefighters Rescue Hikers from Creek"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><p>(<a href=\"https:\/\/walkercountyga.gov\/2019\/02\/20\/two-hikers-rescued-from-swift-moving-water-in-walker-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">walkercountyga.gov<\/a>) \u2013 Georgia firefighters used a cable system to rescue two hikers Wednesday morning after they had been stuck overnight by a creek\u2019s fast-moving waters.<\/p>\n<p>The hikers became stranded just before 9 a.m. by the rising water of East\u00a0Armuchee Creek in\u00a0Chattahoochee National Forest,\u00a0according to W<a href=\"https:\/\/walkercountyga.gov\/2019\/02\/20\/two-hikers-rescued-from-swift-moving-water-in-walker-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>alker County\u2019s website. Walker County firefighters, as well as first responders from the Georgia Department of Corrections and deputies from the Walker County Sheriff\u2019s Office, to help the two men.<\/p>\n<p>A high line cable system was set up across the creek, and firefighters used a quick release vest.
