(WSB-TV<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0\u00a0Dekalb\u00a0firefighters got one adorable call Saturday when they were asked to rescue a puppy who was stranded on the bank of a nearby pond.<\/p>\n

DeKalb Company 24 was able to get him to safety after Animal Control could not reach him.<\/p>\n

Animal Control told firefighters the puppy had no owner and they would have to take him to the shelter.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when firefighter Patrick Harrison stepped up to volunteer to adopt him.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongrats Patrick on your new best friend,\u201d the company wrote on their Facebook page. \u201cHe\u2019s always welcome around the station.\u201d<\/p>\n
