She was stuck on the roof of her car, surrounded by rising floodwaters until firefighters pulled her to safety. The rescue was captured on camera.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.easttexasmatters.com\/news\/top-stories\/video-firefighters-swim-across-rising-waters-to-pull-woman-to-safety\/1528015662\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>VIDEO HERE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jackie Anderson was on her way to work in Johnson County,\u00a0when she underestimated the strength of this fast-moving current.<\/p>\n<p>Firefighters had no options for securing\u00a0a safety line or tethering a boat. The firefighters had to swim out to Anderson and carry her to safety.<\/p>\n<p>Corey Bauman of the Cleburne\u00a0Fire Department\u00a0who helped with the rescue explains: \u201cWe decided that we were going to swim across and get out to her, get her life vest, and then figure out how we were gonna move her back from there.\u00a0We slid her off the car. I just told her to go ahead and get on my back, just wrap her arms around me and I was gonna get us out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bauman describes the swim:\u00a0\u201cIt was freezing, yes mam. We were all cold, especially when we got out and were standing around.
