He likes action figures, Spider-man and video games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a normal 7-year-old,\u201d his mother said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bccomplexobject bcComplexObject1496239538766 bcComplexObject1514389266598\" data-bc-id=\"bc_652fa554-4f7f-4dad-8a11-06ca5f0a6057\">\u00a0But Nov. 30 was anything but normal for Ace and more than a dozen Fowler Drive staff members who are trained as first responders through a Children\u2019s Healthcare of Atlanta program called Project SAVE, for \u201cSudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness, Vision for Prevention Awareness and Education.\u201dA little less than half of Georgia\u2019s schools participate, about 1,250 in all, said Richard Lamthier, who manages Project Save for Children\u2019s Healthcare.\n<p>All of Clarke County\u2019s schools are recognized as \u201cheart-safe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Team members have training sessions twice a year and scramble into action during surprise blind drills when the team members don\u2019t know if it\u2019s real or not until they respond to the emergency.<\/p>\n<p>That preparation made all the difference for Ace, said his mother.<\/p>\n<p>Just before noon that Thursday, as children were lining up to go back inside after recess, Ace lay unresponsive on the ground. He had gone into cardiac arrest.
