(WALB<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0Albany firefighters have raised hundreds of dollars just by growing mustaches!<\/p>\n

Firefighters began raising money in October to purchase Christmas gifts for kids affected by fires.<\/p>\n

Every firefighter who grew a mustache donated one dollar at the beginning of every shift.<\/p>\n

And for the firefighters who couldn\u2019t grow one,\u00a0they donated two dollars every shift.<\/p>\n

In all, they raised $300 this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur money that we raised, we decided that if we have a fire in the December time frame, between December 1st and Christmas, and a child is affected and lost some of their Christmas (gifts), we\u2019ll replace some of it,\u201d said Lt. Joey Rogers.<\/p>\n
