(WRDW\/WAGT<\/a>) \u2014 A one-of-a-kind organization is easing the pain of separation for military and first responder families. They call themselves\u2026Operation Teammate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe support the children, specifically during separation, but we also support the children all year round,\u201d Tim Montjoy, founder of Operation Teammate said.<\/p>\n

After returning from deployment, Air Force Veteran, Tim Montjoy and his daughter Bethany, founded the national non-profit. They take kids, sometimes the whole family, to local games where they can meet the players and get that behind the scenes look.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe use sports as kind of an attention step and we take kids as an appreciation for what they go through as a military or first responder child, to different sporting activities,\u201d Tim said. \u201cand that relationship that we build with the teams leads to mentoring opportunities between the children and the athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n

After starting 2 years ago, the organization has only grown, supporting more families.<\/p>\n

Tim says the response has been overwhelming. Parents like Brandy Mitchell, love the unique and fun experience Operation Teammate brings her kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s one thing Tim is really working on, is cultivating these experiences for these families and I\u2019m just really thrilled with what he does,\u201d Brandy said.<\/p>\n
