{"id":15431,"date":"2017-11-14T14:37:01","date_gmt":"2017-11-14T14:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=15431"},"modified":"2017-11-14T15:55:05","modified_gmt":"2017-11-14T20:55:05","slug":"15431","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=15431","title":{"rendered":"Georgia woman saved by officer after seawall fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><p>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.apalachtimes.com\/news\/20171112\/georgia-woman-saved-after-seawall-fall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apalachtimes.com<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0A quick response from law enforcement and first responders helped save a Georgia woman who fell from the seawall early this morning while fishing with her family off the south side of the St. George Island bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Christy Thompson, spokeswoman from the Franklin County Sheriff\u2019s Office, said the woman who fell into the cold water about 7:45 a.m. was unable to swim and was struggling to hold on until help came.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Wesley Creamer, first to arrive on the scene, jumped into the water to help the frantic victim. A local man, Bob Shiver held onto the woman\u2019s arms until the St. George Island Fire and Rescue could throw a rope to hoist her up the wall to safety. Capt. Thomas Webb was also on scene to assist and get the woman safely o the ground.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA huge shout out to these men for all of their diligence in saving this woman this morning,\u201d said Sheriff A.J.
