(FOX 5<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0An Oakwood police<\/span><\/span> officer saved a wheelchair-bound man from a burning home early Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Just as Corporal Jason Crowder was about to get off work, a 911 call came in about a man trapped inside a home on Shawnee Drive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was heavy<\/span><\/span> black smoke,\u201d Crowder said. \u201cThe flames were toward the back of the house.\u201d<\/p>\n

Knowing there wasn\u2019t much time, Crowder reacted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went in and found him on the floor,\u201d he said. \u201cDragged him out.\u201d<\/p>\n

By the time the fire department arrived, everyone was out of the home safely.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t want the hero title, honestly,\u201d Crowder told News Radio 106.7\u2019s Christy Hutchings. \u201cI\u2019m just doing my job. They can call me a hero, but I don\u2019t think I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crowder said he didn\u2019t do anything that any other officer<\/span><\/span> wouldn\u2019t have done.<\/p>\n

Two dogs also had to be rescued from the fire, and firefighters were able to save<\/span><\/span> them. Everyone is expected to be fine.<\/p>\n
