(Alpharetta Patch<\/a>) \u2013\u00a0The Milton Fire-Rescue Department recently concluded its annual Fill the Boot fundraising drive in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Milton Fire Chief Robert Edgar and members of the Milton Fire-Rescue Department formerly presented the donation to MDA officials during the June 5, 2017 City Council Meeting.<\/p>\n

Beginning in April, Milton firefighters collected at key Milton intersections every other Friday through late May. With only six collection days total, Milton residents helped raise $79,347.26 to help in the fight against muscular dystrophy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year marks our 10-year partnership with MDA, we\u2019ve been doing this since our first year of operation,\u201d said Edgar. \u201cThe generosity of our Milton residents has helped raise more than $639,000 over the last 10 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Milton fire officials, total collections have steadily increased year-over-year with this year\u2019s donations up by two percent from last year\u2019s total.<\/p>\n
