(ACB 10<\/a>) \u2013 The humble hero is Officer Justin Freeman, who\u2019s been on the force for three years. Officer Freeman said he was driving around the Pocket-Greenhaven area when he saw smoke on his way to another call.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was actually flames coming out of the garage and there was people coming out,\u201d Freeman said.<\/p>\n

The family was outside of the home and flagged down Officer Freeman and told him their grandma was inside. He didn\u2019t hesitate and ran inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t expect people to run into buildings every day and his action were timely and heroic,\u201d fellow Sacramento Police Officer Matthew McPhail said.<\/p>\n

Officer McPhail\u00a0said something like this rarely happens, usually, the fire department arrives first.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is reassuring to know when the moment presents itself the people you work with will do the right thing when it\u2019s needed the most,\u201d Officer McPhail added.<\/p>\n

When Officer Freeman was in the house he said the elderly woman did not speak English and only spoke Cantonese but the stars aligned, he happened to have a ride along that could translate.<\/p>\n
