\u201cWhen I served the defendant, I kind of peeked in and I saw they\u00a0 had two toddler children and one infant child laying on the bed,\u201d Woodard said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was like, \u2018What do y\u2019all need? Do y\u2019all have somewhere to go?\u2019 I was like, \u2018I\u2019m going to be honest, as embarrassing as it is for me to say, we don\u2019t have no where to go,\u2019\u201d\u00a0 Erica Peters\u00a0explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce I put them out, then they\u2019re just going to be out in the cold, and I don\u2019t want to put anybody out in the cold, even though that is my job when people file, but we still have a heart,\u201d said Officer Woodard<\/p>\n

What Woodard did have the heart to do was to find another place for the family to stay, and he wants to help them find something long term.<\/p>\n

\u201cMan it means a lot. It really does,\u201d Kilargo Reddic said while fighting back tears.<\/p>\n

Deputy Woodard also took the whole family to get diapers and, of course, Christmas gifts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m tearing up now, because that\u2019s the biggest issue. It\u2019s hard to mask that hurt from my kids,\u201d said Reddic.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe just have to learn to help each other,\u201d Deputy Woodard said. \u201cAnd just not look down upon everybody else.\u201d<\/p>\n

So for this family,\u00a0 Santa was wearing a badge and keeping his promise to serve and protect.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
