MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU<\/a>)<\/strong> \u2013 A helicopter crew rescued a man, woman and small dog from the side of a cliff at Rodeo Beach on Saturday afternoon, California Highway Patrol officers said.<\/p>\n

The dog tumbled 80 feet over the side of the cliff, and its owners, both in their 30s from San Francisco, climbed down to rescue it.<\/p>\n

The group couldn\u2019t climb any farther because of the steep terrain and the difficulty of handling the dog, CHP officers said.<\/p>\n

ust before 2 p.m., the Southern Marin Fire Department requested help from a CHP helicopter to conduct a hoist rescue on the group.<\/p>\n

A crew of three arrived in the helicopter 15 minutes later, CHP officers said.<\/p>\n

A firefighter rappelled down the cliff to secure the victims and their dog, and a CHP paramedic hoisted the three to safety at a nearby landing zone.<\/p>\n

The victims appeared uninjured other than some scrapes and bumps on the dog.<\/p>\n
