(FOX 13<\/a>) \u2013 A DeSoto County Sheriff\u2019s deputy helped a man in need find his way home with money out of his own pocket.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday,\u00a0Sgt. McCoy met a man named Dan Williams, 57, who had no money and no phone and was catching rides from Ohio to his home in Monroe, Louisiana.<\/p>\n

Sgt. McCoy took the gentleman inside a nearby Wendy\u2019s, and offered to pay for his meal, however, Wendy\u2019s management covered Williams\u2019 meal instead.<\/p>\n

After lunch, Sgt. McCoy and his friends, Deputies Brea, Garrett, and Andrews, pooled together money out of their own pockets to buy Williams a Greyhound ticket, in addition to extra money for food and necessities.<\/p>\n

When McCoy took Williams to the bus station in Memphis to drop him off, Williams broke down.<\/p>\n
