But, that’s what happened on Tuesday afternoon, after Master Corporal Eric Stanley arrived home for lunch.

Stanley, on duty and in his K-9 patrol SUV, arrived at his home for lunch. Investigator said shortly after 1:00PM, Stanley heard a pop sound come from outside his home. He walked outside to see his patrol unit on fire. Realizing his two K-9 officers were still inside the running vehicle, Stanley immediately ran to the car and rescued Kodie and Noble.

His work wasn’t done. The fire spread to the home and Stanley successfully got his kids and wife out of the home.

Not a single man, woman, child or animal was harmed; although Kodie and Noble visited a vet to be sure.

Investigators determined the fire was not the result of an outside source. As the fire crews tried to figure out what started the fire, support from Stanley’s church and neighborhood began grew.

Paster James Murray, with Hillcrest Baptist Church stopped by and donated the church’s van to the family, as their family vehicle was also damaged in the fire.

“It’s sad. He could have been anywhere and the car could have blown up at any time,” said Murray. “We are here to make sure they have support, money, a car, whatever they need.”

Stanley’s seven children are homeschooled and his wife, Angela, teaches art through the church’s ministry. Miraculously, all of her student’s artwork was left untouched by the blaze.

The Stanleys were offered shelter at friends and family’s homes. In the meantime, Murray said they will have a clothes drive at their church for the family.

Anyone wishing to assist can drop donations at the Hillcrest Baptist Church, 9856 McNeil Road, Kernersville, NC.

[1

post-13934","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
