{"id":13903,"date":"2016-04-18T15:53:10","date_gmt":"2016-04-18T15:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=13903"},"modified":"2016-04-18T15:53:10","modified_gmt":"2016-04-18T15:53:10","slug":"coast-guard-rescues-3-people-off-coast-of-georgia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/georgiaarsoncontrol.org\/?p=13903","title":{"rendered":"Coast Guard rescues 3 people off coast of Georgia"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><p>See footage of the amazing rescues <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstcoastnews.com\/news\/coast-guard-rescues-3-people-off-coast-of-georgia\/136072884\" target=\"_blank\">HERE\u203a\u203a<\/a><\/p>\n<p>BRUNSWICK, Ga. \u2014 The United States Coast Guard says 3 people are recovering after being rescued from a disabled sailboat adrift off the coast of southeast Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard initially received reports from a large container ship that a 55-foot sailboat, off St. Simons<br>\nIsland, was in distress, late Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>The agency says they deployed resources after the receiving the report, but because of weather conditions, rescuers were not able to reach the stranded boaters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring any evolution, safety is a top priority for the Coast Guard,\u201d said Lt. Cmdr. Shannon Scaff, chief of planning and readiness for Coast Guard Sector Charleston. \u201cIt\u2019s a factor that is constantly evaluated and reevaluated as any operation proceeds.
