(KTLA 5<\/a>) \u2013 A horse was back \u201con its feet and talking\u201d after being airlifted to safety from a ravine in Tujunga Canyons on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.<\/p>\n

The horse\u00a0was initially reported to be stuck in a ravine in the 12800 block of Little Tujunga Canyon Road, department spokesman Randall Wright said.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0was later located farther east near Ebey Herrerers Truck Trail, he said. The incident was in the Angeles Forest, and near the San Fernando Valley\u2019s Lake View Terrace neighborhood, southeast of Sylmar.<\/p>\n

Officials, who first reported in incident around 4 p.m., determined a hoist operation was needed, and Fire Department crew members on the ground aided by clearing a \u201clarge amount\u201d of brush to allow for the horse\u2019s landing.<\/p>\n

Once on the ground, video from the department showed the apparently uninjured horse back on its feet and \u201ctalking\u201d to its rescuers.<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles Fire Department assisted in the rescue.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
