WAYLAND (CBS) \u2014 The Wayland Fire Department is praising\u00a0the heroic actions taken by one of their off-duty firefighters on Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

In a post on their Facebook page<\/a>, the department said Firefighter Will Tyree rescued an elderly woman and her developmentally disabled son from a fire in West Roxbury.<\/p>\n

Tyree was driving down Washington Street around 3 p.m. on February 14 when he noticed black smoke coming from the rear of a home. He stopped and found that the back of the house<\/span> $\"\"$ <\/span><\/a> was on fire.<\/p>\n

Tyree entered the building, found the woman and her son, and helped them exit, taking them to his car<\/span> $\"\"$ <\/span><\/a> to keep them warm. He used piles of snow to keep the fire at bay until the fire department arrived.<\/p>\n
