MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG<\/a>) \u2014 \u00a0A man was pulled from his burning SUV on 385 Sunday.<\/p>\n

It happened on the eastbound side of 385 near Ridgeway Road and Kirby Parkway at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n

A Jeep left the road, hit a pole and burst into flames.<\/p>\n

The driver was trapped in the car as flames began to spread toward him.<\/p>\n

Cars stopped and people immediately tried to pull the man out.<\/p>\n

It was looking grim until MPD K9 Officer Richard Morrow joined the group.<\/p>\n

Together Officer Morrow and Eugene McNeil were able to get the seat belt off the man and pull him from the car.<\/p>\n

Together, they were able to pull the man to safety just before the car was engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n

The driver was taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.<\/p>\n

The car was destroyed, but a Bible was found on the passenger seat unharmed.<\/p>\n<\/body>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
